I like ASUS

 

Asus is good, Merlin s it too which is official.

 

PLDT offer's two ASUS unit models and eventually or soon I'm going to add this because of the houses split level.

 

I think I spotted that when we had PLDT, the one I saw on their site was their big old gaming router, WiFi 6. They can be fairly complex to setup as Asus has a lot of options in its webUI.

 

I have TPLink. I have not noticed any issues but I set them up to prevent the most common hacking. The spraying works because people don't change the defaults. Also I keep firmware updated and reboot often. I figure most people already give away their info online without any hacking.
I use a VPN on my devices if I need to be safer. While I am all for watching out for Chinese government hacking, many items we buy in the Philippines come from china and what makes a company bad there? Any of them can be influenced.

this is it, all routers phone home from major manufacturers. They send diagnostic, they check for firmware and even time stamps.
