Hi all, I read that one of the fields Italy needs more people in is healthcare but does that include physiotherapists or what the French call medecines douces (psychologists, dietitians, osteopaths, homeopaths, etc.)? A hands-on profession would be best for me as I'm fed up with working in operations and I bet many Italians have degrees like mine in Communication/Business.

Which one of these is sought after in Italy in you opinion? According to my work experience French people visit psychologists, physiotherapist and osteopaths the most. In fact they seem to be addicted to osteopaths. They're not visiting dietitians that often, less so than before. Is Italy equally as big on osteopaths and psyhologists? Or maybe physiotherapists are more sought-after? Grazie!

Osteopathy was only (finally) legally recognised as a profession in 2021 - so yes there is a high demand, as there arent that many. Lots of physios, but hugely varied - the newness of the office seems to rank higher than the physiotherapy. Psychologists are growing in presence, especially for younger people.
To work as any of these you will need an qualification that is recognised in Italy, or a foreign qualification that you can convert doing a further year or 2 years of study. Plus the language test. Its not straightforward.
