Hello all, thanks for reading this.

I am about to move from UK to singapore with my fiance, we have been together 13 years.

I have a full employment visa being processed by my employers in singapore. Can anyone help or offer guidance on what the situation is with my fiance?

She wasn't looking to work straight away but after a few months...

How would this possibly work, visa wise??

Thanks again!!

Alex

Hi Golferalex,

It depends on which employment you are getting. If it’s S or Employment , you can apply for Dependent for spouse and children. So if she is fiancé, you can only apply it after both of you get married in your country.

You can refer to MOM website for the defendant process and fees.
The dependant allows your partner to stay in Singapore for longer period which helps in her application for job searches in Singapore. Afterward she will need her own work es to start work. Most company if decided to hire foreign talents will help with the application as local sponsor.

Another way will be that you can come to Singapore for marriage ceremony. The following link will be for non-Muslim marriage (Civil Marriage).

If you are looking at Muslim marriage, I would recommend to do it in your own country as it has more process and thus more difficulties for you. And deciding to come to Singapore for solemnisation will take a longer time to get the dependant for your partner. As you still have to go through the solemnisation process and the waiting time for the marriage cert.

If you all don’t plan to get married soon, she will only be on short term visit which allows for 30days in Singapore and an extension for this of max 89days. There are other alternative like student or entrepreneur etc. You can look into the different work es here.

Hope this helps!
