1. Your port of entry to Australia can be anywhere.
2. The visa itself only requires that you need to live and work in a designated regional area of Australia. That said, if NSW sponsored you for a regional visa then there is least a moral obligation to live and work in regional NSW.

Hi, I have (NSW) subclass 491 visa and I have the below two questions, I would appreciate if someone can guide.
1) Is it necessary for me to land in NSW since my 491 visa was state sponsored or I can get the immigration done in another state as well?
2) Do I need to work only in NSW (regional areas) or I can work in regional areas of other states as well?

Answer to these questions will help me to plan my travel and search jobs accordingly.

1. You can land everywhere in Australia
2. You can work and live in any regional area of Australia. List of postcodes should be in your grant letter otherwise check immigration official website.
